Beijing Day 1

At breakfast this morning we saw a group of French Canadians who already received their babies. The babies were smiling, happy and seemed very alert. These babies were also from the Jiangxi province. The parents said the babies had a difficult 3-4 days of grieving then the bonding began and they said the babie's personalities began to show.
After breakfast we went to the Henderson Center Shopping Center and attempted to bargain. We definitely need more practice. After shopping we all got a massage at the hotel. It felt GREAT after our long plane ride. Then our guide, Chrystal took us to a Silk Factory where we learned how they make silk. I bought a beautiful traditional red dress for Lilli to wear for the "red couch" photo in Guangzhou. Then we went to a Chinese acrobatics show. The performers are selected and trained at a very young age and only perform for 4-5 years before they are too old and have to move on to something else. They are extremely limber and strong - I couldn't believe the positions they could contort their bodies into. After the performance we went to eat Peking Duck in a very famous restaurant here. It was four stories tall!! We ordered a whole duck, they cut it in front of us then we wrapped the meat in a "pancake" with lettuce, chilies, scallions, kraut and at ate it. It was very good but not something I would like every day as it was very greasy. It was a fun and eventful day
